Hermione doesn't have to be an eyewitness to everything. In fact, her not knowing and having to wait for news might even be more exciting.

In my review I recommended Eric Shanower's superior graphic novel series about the Trojan War: "Age of Bronze." His drawings are beautiful, and his story-telling skills amazing.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8113052399073443996.post-30671020790871774432013-10-18T18:54:23.995-04:002013-10-18T18:54:23.995-04:00Well...she wasn't the first to come up with th...Well...she wasn't the first to come up with that :-) But yeah, that anesthesizes Agamemnon and Menelaus.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8113052399073443996.post-59924991825739951052013-10-18T18:52:27.049-04:002013-10-18T18:52:27.049-04:00Iphigenia wasn't even sacrificed. I think the book suffered as a result of its deadline (I know there was one) and problems in the first two parts. There's no way Menelaus and Agamemnon would have allowed Hermione to stay in the Greek camp. It was no place for a girl of her station. She would have been in constant danger of attack, disease, starvation, rape, etc. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8113052399073443996.post-45095797867462910852013-10-08T17:12:28.362-04:002013-10-08T17:12:28.362-04:00Laura, I'll look for your book!Laura, I'll look for your book!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8113052399073443996.post-69099110767940484112013-10-08T16:52:13.652-04:002013-10-08T16:52:13.652-04:00A few years ago, I wrote a novel about Hermione, &...A few years ago, I wrote a novel about Hermione, "Helen's Daughter," which draws on the original sources and treats the characters somewhat differently than what you mentioned in your review. I am interested, nevertheless, to see how Ms. Meyers' version plays out.

I did suggest some resources to Ms. Meyer back in 2012 when she announced the project on her blog. I hope she found them helpful and made good use of them.

Laura Gill Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
